Saints stun Souths in Men’s First Division

Murwillumbah Saints caused a major upset knocking off the previously unbeaten South Lismore 4 - 1 in First Division action over the weekend.

Souths fielding a slightly weakened line up suffered either from the effects of travel or complacency as they made the trip north to the struggling Saints who excelled with a reshaped defensive line-up.

Tweed Heads secured a morale boosting 1- 1 draw against Pottsville, who have to date looked pretty strong in this league while Bangalow gave their promotion hopes a good lift with a solid 2 - 1 win over Kingscliff.

In other results Alstonville belted Tumbulgum 5 - 0, Woodburn scraped home 2 - 0 against a revitalised Hammers and Burringbar moved into the top four with a comprehensive 3 - 1 win over Uki.
